日本から牧師を派遣されるという体制が今年からがらりと変わります。今年、2009年の10月から、私たち日本語部は、現地アメリカで３０年以上も牧会に携わった牧師を迎えて、新たな第一歩を踏み出します。私が神様の御心によってこの場に遣わされた牧師、岸野豊です。　私は日本で生まれ、1970年の高校時代に、交換学生として始めてアメリカに来ました。その後、日本に帰り立教大学を卒業し、再びアメリカの地に戻り、ペンシルバニアにあるルーテル神学校に入学したのは1975年でした。神学校卒業後、わたしはフィラデルフィア、ペンシルバニア、テキサスなどの様々な地で牧会に携わる機会に恵まれました。テキサスのGrand Prairieでは、新しい教会も立ち上げる事ができ、つい最近その教会の２０周年記念に招かれて参加しました。1989年から2005年にかけて、２つの教区(The Southern California West Synod, The Pacifica Synod)の伝道活動指導者（Mission Director)として、新しく始まる伝道活動のお世話をさせていただきました。わたしが携わった伝道活動は、英語を言語の主体とした所が７カ所、その他15カ所は英語を中心としない他民族教会でした。その後、Whittier やClaremont で暫く牧師をし、現在に至っています。妻のNancyはペンシルバニアの出身です。私たちには24歳になる娘Katieと20歳の息子Andrewがいます。NancyはRiversideで、”West Coast Spine Restoration Center”を経営しています。

In October, this ministry will welcome a new Japanese American Pastor to succeed this ministry. And that is me, Rev. Yutaka Kishino, who was born in Tokyo, Japan. I came to the States originally in 1970 as a high school exchange student. After this experience, I went back to Tokyo to finish my college education. I then came back to the United State in 1975 to study at the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
Since then I served as a Pastor of congregations in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Plano, Texas. I then developed and organized a new congregation in Grand Prairie, Texas. From 1989 to 2005 I served as Mission Director of two synod s (districts) called “The Southern California West” and “The Pacifica” supervising new ministry developments. I was instrumental in organizing 7 English speaking and 15 ethnic congregations. Following this work I became an Intentional Interim Ministry Pastor and I served two congregations one in Whittier, CA. and the other in Claremont, CA. prior to coming to the Lutheran Church of Resurrection in Huntington Beach.
My wife Nancy is Pennsylvania Dutch and I have a daughter Katie (24) and a son Andrew (20). Nancy is the owner of “West Coast Spine Restoration Center” in Riverside, CA.
